Getting started
How do I install the app on my phone?
Open the app in your phone's browser and choose Add to Home Screen (Share, then Add to Home Screen on an iPhone; the menu, then Install app on Android). It then opens like any other app.
How do I create an account or sign in?
Choose Create account or Sign in on the home page. An account needs only an email address. Signing in is handled by Auth0, so rpelog never sees your password.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Me, then Account, then Delete my account. Your data is erased 30 days later.
Can I get my account back after deleting it?
Yes, for 30 days: sign in again and choose Restore my account. After 30 days everything is erased and cannot be recovered.
How do I change the unit, the language or the theme?
In Me, under Preferences. The unit is kg or lb, the language is English or French, and the theme follows your device or can be fixed to dark or light.
Training
What is RPE?
RPE is the rate of perceived exertion of a set, from 1 to 10 in half steps. An RPE of 8 means you could have done about two more reps. It is optional: leave it out if you do not use it.
What is the tempo?
Four numbers in seconds: the lowering, the pause at the bottom, the lifting and the pause at the top. A tempo of 3-0-1-0 is three seconds down, no pause, one second up, no pause. It is optional, and progress is tracked per exercise and tempo.
What are Recent bests and the working weight on the home screen?
The working weight of a lift is the heaviest set you did recently with enough reps and a low enough RPE, or with no RPE. By default that is the last few weeks; you can change the number of weeks, the minimum reps and the maximum RPE in Me, under Advanced: working weight.
An exercise is missing. Can I add my own?
Yes. The catalogue has almost 300 exercises, and the search finds a name with all the words you type, in any order. If yours is not there, search for it: when nothing matches, a Create button (in the Exercises page and in the Add exercise sheet) opens a form with the name already typed, where you can also pick the muscles it works. You can have up to 20 exercises of your own. They are listed first, with your favorites. To change its name, its muscle group or its muscles, open its page and use the three dots menu (Edit this exercise) or Edit muscles. An exercise that has logged sets cannot be deleted.
How do I mark an exercise as a favorite?
Open the page of the exercise and tap the star next to its name. Your favorites come first on the Exercises page and in the Add exercise sheet. The exercises you made are always in that first list, so they have no star.
Which muscles did I work this week?
The home page draws the muscles of your sessions of the last 7 days on a body map, shaded light, medium or heavy by the number of sets (a set counts fully for its main muscles and for half for the others). Tap Details for the sets of each muscle. Every session page and every exercise page has a map of its own.
How does the rest timer work?
It starts when you log a set and counts down 2 minutes by default. Tap the time to choose 1, 1.5, 2, 3 or 5 minutes, or Off. When the rest is over the screen flashes and a phone that can vibrates once. It only runs while the app is open, and the flash is left out when your device asks for reduced motion.
Can I log a workout without a connection?
Yes. The app opens with the data it kept on your device, and you can log a workout. When you finish it with no connection, the workout waits on your phone, shown as Waiting to sync in your history, and it is saved when the connection returns. Editing or deleting a past session, creating an exercise and Strava need a connection.
What time does a workout start, and how long does it last?
A workout starts at the beginning of the current hour (08:23 starts at 08:00) and lasts 60 minutes, unless you change it: tap the date at the top of the workout screen to change the day, the start time and the duration. A workout moved to another day has no time.
What happens to a workout I have not saved?
An unfinished workout is kept on your device, so you can leave the app and come back to it. It is saved to your account when you finish it. To leave a workout and come back later, tap the X and choose Save for later.
Can I share a session?
Yes. A session page has a Share image button that makes a card with the logo and your sets, ready to post or send.
Your data
How do I get a copy of my data?
On a computer (the download is not offered on a phone), open the app, then Profile, then Account. Choose Download everything (JSON) for a complete copy that another program can read, or Download sets (CSV) for one line per set that opens in a spreadsheet.
Who can see my sessions?
Only you. Your data is not sold or shared, and there are no ads. The details are in the privacy policy.
